New Year's Events in the Palm Springs Area


It's time to make plans for your New Year's celebration!  The desert has many options for almost any kind of New Year's Party, from Charity events, to kid-friendly celebrations, from "black-tie" to Buddhist!  Here are some of your options for ringing in 2011!


La Quinta Resort & Club, 49-499 Eisenhower Drive, La Quinta: Twenty6 will transform into Club26 for a Speakeasy Night with a DJ, dancing and autction.  Late-night buffet and breakfast.  Cost:  $49 per person, For reservations call 760-564-5720      For a more  elegant night, try Morgan's in the Desert at the La Quinta Resort & Club, for a five-course dinner with wine and music from 8pm to 1am.  Cost:  $185 ; 760-564-7600

JEM Steakhouse at Spotlight 29 Casino, 46200 Harrison St., Coachella; 760-775-2880 Four-course New Year's Eve dinner. Seatings begin at 4pm Cost:  $99 per person.   

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, The River, 71800 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage; 760-776-6685. From Dec. 30th thru Jan 1, three prix-fixe meals, ranging from $60-$80.  Veuve Clicquot Yellow label availbe, $25.

The 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro, 73101 Highway 111, Palm Desert; 760-837-9600.  Dinner 3pm to 1am; $5 corkage fee. Cost:  Menu Prices  

Melvyn's Casablanca Bar and Lounge at the Ingleside Inn, 200 W. Ramon Road, Palm Springs; 760-325-2323.  Gala starts at 9pm. Enjoy a gourmet dinner with unlimited champagne and dancing.  Cost:  $150, including gratuity; advance purchase only.

BB's New Year's Eve at the Renaissance Esmeralda, 44-400 Indian Wells Lane, Indian Wells;; 760-880-1059. Get dressed up and ready to dance--BB is hosting the New Year's Eve Masquerade Party!  Three ballrooms of entertainment with five DJs and The All-Star Party Band.  Cost:  $20 per person.  Special room rates also available.

Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, 44-200 Indian Wells Lane, Indian Wells; 760-340-2787.  The ballroom at the Hyatt is the backdrop to a special New Year's Eve celebration.  DJ Fitz will spin before dinner and Art of Sax will follow. Includes open-bar reception and plated dinner.  Cost:  Tickets are $399 per couple and include breakfast New Year's morning.

Spa Resort Casino, 401 East Amado Road, Palm Springs; 888-999-1995.  The party begins at 10pm and features champagne, party favors, and balloon drop!  Cost:  $25 per person.   

Hair of the Dog English Pub, 238 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs; 760-323-9890. Hair of the Dog always has two NYE celebrations in one day!  Once at 4pm (for the English New Year), and again at midnight!  Cost:  No Cover!

LIT, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway, Indio; 760-342-5000.  LIT:  Party in the LiT Lounge at Fantasy Srpingsfeaturing offical Prince tribute act Purple Reign.  Enjoy free hats and party favors!  Cost:  $20 per person.

Hotel Zoso, 150 S. Indian Canyon Drive, Palm Springs; 760-969-6699.  Dine, dance, and DRAG! Music from Pinkie Meringue Shimmer, Jersey Shore, Melissa Stratman and Sassy Ross. Performances from Charles Herrera, Dolores Ofria, Fleet Easton and hostess Bella da Ball!  Welcome reception at 8pm with hors d'oeuvres, dinner at 9pm and a champagne toast with party favors at midnight!  Cost:  $99 per person for the entire package.  $25 per person to attend the show, dancing and toast.  Special room rates available.

Dink's Resaurant and Ultra Lounge, 2080 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs; 760-327-7676.  Winter White Celebration with a four-course dinner featuring filet mignon and lobster tail.  Seating begins at 6pm, live entertainment with Nancy Franklin and Denise Motto and The Rio Dancers.  Cost $85 per person.

La Quinta Baking Company, 78-385 Highway 111, La Quinta; 760-347-4741, ext 316 or  New Year's Eve celebration benfiting Martha's Village & Kitchen, with dinner, silent auction and entertainment, 5pm & 7:30 pm seatings.  Cost: $100 per person.
